Profile
The candidate should have a doctoral degree, or an engineer’s degree, or a master’s degree in remote sensing, or computer sciences, or data science, or another field that is closely linked to these;
Roles and Responsibilities
- Working on data processing and programming to improve and automate variables and products extraction;
- Developing remote sensing and precision agriculture-based products such as biomass, yield, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, crop classification, 3D canopy and terrain maps, etc.;
- Organize data, code, clean up pipeline, and produce weekly reporting;
- Build sample planning techniques, fertilization prescription maps, and 3D mapping;
- Make suggestions for new paths of investigation that are connected to the goals of the project.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong background knowledge and expertise with geospatial image processing and GIS software applications (ArcGIS; QGIS ENVI; Pix4D; etc.);
- Excellent knowledge of statistics as well as computer programming languages (R, Python, MATLAB, etc.);
- Good experience in processing and analyzing remote sensing data is desired. A focus on LiDAR and multispectral data is required.
- Good experience in remote sensing, GIS, and modelling for precision agricultural technologies;
- Skills in scientific writing, publishing, and communication are strongly required;
- The candidate should have at least two years of experience in remote sensing, data science, and/or precision agriculture.
