MAScIR SETS UP ITS SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

The MAScIR Foundation organized the first session of its newly established Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) on December 10 and 11.

Chaired by Dr. Hicham FENNIRI, Scientific Director of MAScIR. The Scientific Advisory Board is composed of nine internationally renowned scientists from leading research institutes, including the France’s National Research Institute for Agriculture(INRA), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of California Berkeley (UCB), the University of Strasbourg in France, the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia , the Radboud University  of Nijmegen in the Netherlands and the Yale University in the United States.

The Scientific Advisory Board issues recommendations and gives opinions on the strategy and scientific orientations of the Foundation and its various centers, the content of projects that have been completed or are underway, the scientific problems encountered during the implementation of projects and prospects for use and  current and future markets,  results achieved and the products developed as part of these projects.

The Scientific Advisory Board also has the task of supervising the periodic evaluation of the Foundation’s research centers. This evaluation may be entrusted to one or more members of the Scientific Council or to external experts of its choice, who will be commissioned by the Foundation.

The Scientific Advisory Board will meet at least twice a year upon convocation by its president, Dr. Faouzi BEKKAOUI.
