It stretches over six continents and places a special emphasis on the knowledge and educational capacity of over 1,200 member institutions working together to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reach the goals set out in the Paris Agreement.. SDSN’s work is focused around four main areas: SDSN’s work focuses on four main areas:

  •   Provide and mobilize support for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
  •   Help governments and all other stakeholders understand and meet the challenges of sustainable development.
  •   Promote high-quality education and research collaboration for sustainable development.
  •   Promote initiatives to create practical solutions and find long-term pathways for sustainable development.

By working in close collaboration with UN agencies, multilateral funding institutions, the private sector and civil society, SDSN aims to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. SDSN is deeply involved in global discussions on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, their targets and indicators, and encourages members to engage in these important debates at the global, regional and national levels.
